Haven’t posted in awhile, but lots going on. Did an initial launch in June/July. Got a fair amount of traffic to the site, but very few people downloaded the game. Received some feedback that people didn’t feel comfortable downloading a game that they couldn’t play first.

We also have seen that until people play the game, the don’t “get it” in terms of understanding how it really works and what makes it different from other trivia games. This led us to try to develop a demo that could be played before downloading the full game.

We starting working with Silverlight for the demo because we thought that it would be more compatible with our current executable. As we developed the demo, the question became, could we just run the whole game on Silverlight? The biggest concern was security, but after spending some time with the program, we became comfortable that we could secure the system without having a separate download.

So, for the last few weeks we have been working to transfer the whole game over to Silverlight. We have a demo that currently works, except for one bug that should be fixed in the next few days. It will probably take another month or so, but then we will be able to relaunch with a web based game. This will  allow players to play from any platform, Mac, Linux, etc., as well as see the demo and the unique aspects of the game. It will mean a fair amount of rework of the website and testing, but overall it should make for a much better gaming experience.

Stay tuned…
